On Sunday, December 18, a brass ensemble of young musicians — under the direction of House of Musical Traditions teacher Brian Weber (on tuba) — entertained Old Takoma shoppers and passersby with concerts at the gazebo.

The cheap seats were filled quickly. Then it was standing room only. The event — billed the Young Takoma Holiday Concert Series in Old Takoma — drew an encore performance, to the delight of the audience, who gave anything but a chilly reception.

Weber was ably assisted by fellow music teacher Mike Woods (on trombone).
