On February 4, the Folklore Society of Greater Washington celebrated its annual mid-winter mini fest on the site of the iconic Takoma Park Folk Festival, held in September. Takoma Park Middle School was invaded by Morris dancers and banjo pickers, contra dancers and fiddlers, balladeers and blues singers. Folks of all ages showed up to listen, dance and join in the music-making. Voice photographer Mark Podger was on hand to capture the event.
